Mr. Lim Chok Huy, Secretary-General of ASEAN, expressed his full support for Cambodia in organizing the ASEAN Summit in 2022. The support of the Secretary-General of ASEAN was made during a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, on January 17, 2021 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The official Facebook page of the Cambodian Top Diplomat said that both sides discussed a number of issues while preparing for the upcoming ASEAN Summit.
H.E Prak Sokhon informed the Secretary-General of ASEAN] of the priorities and key outcomes of ASEAN.
The two sides remained optimistic about the future of ASEAN, despite facing some challenges, because it is clear that the spirit of unity and solidarity of ASEAN will overcome all obstacles.
Mr. Lim Chok Huy paid a five-day official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia from January 15 to 19, 2022 at the invitation of the Head of the Cambodian Top Diplomat.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Mr. Lim Chok Huy's visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia as the current chair of ASEAN will seek ways to further strengthen cooperation and coordination between the ASEAN Secretariat and relevant ministries of Cambodia under the three pillars of the ASEAN Community, including the political, security, economic and socio-cultural community, to ensure the achievement of better achievements for a stronger and more cohesive ASEAN family.
