The President of the 43rd AIPA Presents 5 Major Success Points Hosted by the Cambodian Parliament

Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and President of the 43rd ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) presented five major achievements of the AIPA General Assembly from November 20-24, 2022.

Speaking at the Closing Ceremony of the General Assembly on the morning of November 24 at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel, Samdech Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin confirmed that the five important results, they are: 

First: the 43rd General Assembly, AIPA received four new observers.

Second : AIPA has increased mutual trust and understanding, between the AIPA family and the Observatory.

Third: The General Assembly adopted a number of important resolutions within the framework of women parliamentarians, political, economic, social and organizational affairs. 

Fourth: The General Assembly showed a strong sense of unity and solidarity. 

And fifth: AIPA has made clear the principles of consultation and decision-making on the basis of consensus remain fundamental to ASEAN's centrality and unity.

Samdech Ponhea Chakrei continued to say that this is the success of the 43rd AIPA General Assembly, which the Cambodian Parliament hosted in strengthening the parliamentary mechanism to contribute to the development of sustainable people's livelihood and solve problems for the people both regional and global, while AIPA legislature of ASEAN member states, represents 650 million people in Southeast Asia.
