Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State and President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on Tuesday September 10, 2024 met with H.E Woo Won-Shik, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
H.E Woo Won-Shik expressed his appreciation for the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who led the Royal Government of Cambodia as the former Prime Minister in bringing peace and prosperity for the country. He once again congratulated Samdech Techo on his election as President of the Senate.
The President of the National Assembly of Korea further said that Samdech Techo Hun Sen had made a significant contribution to building relations between the Republic of Korea and Cambodia, and hoped that the friendly relations and operational cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Cambodia would be further developed in the future.
The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea expressed satisfaction and pleasure at the increase in trade and investment relations, where the bilateral trade volume between the two countries have increased significantly. The establishment of the previous free trade agreement has made it easier for more than 200 Korean companies to invest in Cambodia.
The Korean National Assembly President also asked Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the Royal Government of Cambodia to support and facilitate Korean investment so the South Korean companies have been able to expand and expand relations and cooperation and to increase investment in Cambodia. The Korean side will consider setting up a special economic zone for Korean companies agreed during Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet's recent visit.
