The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, has joined his fellow countrymen in celebrating the 1st anniversary of the inclusion the Koh Ker Temple in the UNISCO World Heritage List.
The Cambodian Prime Minister expressed his joy in a congratulatory message issued on Tuesday September 17, 2024.
The Koh Ker temple site in Preah Vihear province of the Kingdom of Cambodia was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on September 17, 2023
The World Heritage Committee decided to include Koh Ker as a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the 45th the World Heritage Committee meeting in 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The initiative for the inscription of Koh Ker temple as a world heritage site was made by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister and now President of the Senate of Cambodia, when he requested UNESCO to consider Cambodia’s proposal in 2021.
