The Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology of the Kingdom of Cambodia said that Cambodia has not had experts and measuring equipment in the field of earthquakes.

His Excellency Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology made this known when the Minister prepare mechanisms and put forward strategies in anticipation of possible natural disasters.

The Minister instructed the Meteorological Working Group to strengthen its work, constantly conducting monitoring and geological surveys, especially to prepare mechanisms, strategic plans and work to be able to address the possible consequences.

On Friday, March 28, 2025, an earthquake occurred 16 kilometers northwest of Sagaing City in Myanmar.

The earthquake occurred in the Earth's core at a depth of about 10 kilometers and affected the upper layer of the earth at a magnitude of 7.7, causing trembles in several countries
