The Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia stated that new achievements in Cambodia have resulted from peace that has been prevailing in the country.

His Excellency Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, made the remarks at a ceremony on Tuesday April 8, 2025 to mark the complete connection of a bridge along National Road N. 10 in Pursat province. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that roads, bridges, and many other pieces of infrastructure have continuously sprung up because the country has been enjoying peace, that was achieved with difficulty by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister and now President of the Senate.

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol added that through peace factor, the Royal Government has been able to attract millions of tourists to Cambodia and has provided the Royal Government with an opportunity to find markets to sell agricultural products abroad to increase income for the people and help them live better lives.

The bridge has been named Bridge 28 and the highest in Cambodia. It is 90 meters high, over 500 meters long and 10 meters wide located in Veal Veng district, Pursat province.

The fund of about US$25 million for the building of the bridge came from the national budget.
