H.E Kao Kim-Huorn, ASEAN Secretary-General, will lead a delegation of the ASEAN Secretariat to attend the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, from April 12 to 14 April 2025.

The participation of the ASEAN Secretary-General was made at the invitation of the Government of Japan.

The ASEAN Secretary-General’s visit will include a series of engagements focusing on ASEAN’s participation in Expo 2025, visits to ASEAN Member States’ national pavilions, and meetings with other stakeholders based in Osaka.

The ASEAN Secretary-General will inaugurate the ASEAN National Pavilion and deliver a speech to support Malaysia, this year’s ASEAN Chair, at the International Trade and Industry Week organized by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia.

The ASEAN Secretary-General will also meet with the Governor of Osaka Prefecture and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry to further promote ASEAN’s potential in the areas of trade, investment, tourism and connectivity.

In addition, the ASEAN Secretary-General will also meet with the ASEAN-Japan Center and deliver a special lecture on the theme "ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership: A Partnership for Peace, Prosperity and People" at Kansai University to share the story of ASEAN with the next generation of young people.
