The Cambodian Prime Minister hoped that in the future, the automotive industry would be able to create more domestic assembly production through cooperation with existing local companies.

The Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, expressed his hope when he presided over the inauguration of the new Ford production line of RMA Cambodia in Krakor district, Pursat province, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet praised the process of car production in Cambodia, saying that some components have already been produced locally and the Royal Government hasalso helped to promote the production of more components.

The Cambodian Prime Minister also stated that the Cambodian government's policy has considered giving automobile companies some level of encouragement and concessions to help promote the production chain with the goal of having most of the production made locally, ensuring the efficiency of production and enabling Cambodia to be resilient in the sense that Cambodia can supply more than it import, while imports would be get stuck if there have been any obstacles in those supplying countries.
