H.E Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, on April 24, 2025, chaired a consultation meeting on the draft rural development policy 2025-2035.
H.E Chhay Rithisen thanked all partner organizations for their participation, which is an important source of energy for providing important inputs to help rural development policies be of high quality, realistic for development, implementable, and have tangible achievements on the ground for the Cambodian people, in line with the context of national development.
The Minister of Rural Development said that based on the achievements of the previous mandate, the Royal government of the 7th mandate of the National Assembly, headed by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has launched the first phase pentagonal strategy for Growth, Jobs, Equity, Efficiency and Sustainability, which sets five key priorities: people, roads, water, electricity and digital technology, to achieve the vision of Cambodia to become an upper middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income one by 2050.
The Minister went on to say that based on the strategy and vision of the Royal Government, the Ministry of Rural Development is working to prepare the Rural Development Policy 2025-2035 as a roadmap and master plan for proactive development based on the achievements made in the past to set the direction to promote rural development to further progress.
