Cambodian Prime Minister: Labor dispute mediation has been resolved more effectively due to the maturity of relevant actors

The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, appreciated the more effective resolution of labor disputes by authorities concerned.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, made the appreciation when he held a get-together with senior officials of professional organizations held in Phnom Penh on April 27 to mark the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day, May 1.

The Prime Minister said that labor disputes have been resolved more effectively due to the maturity of relevant actors and the strengthening of the out-of-court labor dispute mechanism.

The Cambodian Prime Minister further said that the Royal Government has always strived to promote the rights and freedoms of professional organizations in accordance with trade union laws and international labor conventions that Cambodia has ratified.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet went on to say that as of March 2025, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training had registered 6,600 professional organizations, including 42 unions, 281 union federations, 6,265 local unions, and 12 employers’ associations.

The Cambodian Prime Minister also thanked all relevant actors for their dedicated work and efforts, especially the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.
