The Council for the Development of Cambodia registers a total of 172 investment projects with a combined investment capital of US$ 2.5 billion

The Prime Minister of the Kingdom ofCambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, saidthat in the first three months of this year, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has registered a total of 172 investment projects with a combined investment capital of US$ 2.5 billion, creating approximately 120,000 jobs.

The statement was made when Samdech Thipadei Hun Mamet held a get-together with senior officials of professional organizations held in Phnom Penh on April 27 to mark the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day, May 1.

The Cambodian Prime Minister stressed that among the 45,255 factories and enterprises, the number of workers and employees had risen from approximately 1.81 million to 1.85 million.

In the first three months of 2025, the Council for the Development of Cambodia approved 172 investment projects, with Chinese companies ranking first among investors in Cambodia, accounting for nearly 80% of total investment.

Of the total projects, 99 are located outside special economic zones, while 73 are situated within special economic zones.

Compared to the same period in 2024, the registration of investment in 2025 increased by 66 projects, while total investment capital up by over US$305 million, equivalent to approximately 14%.
