South Korean Environment Minister vows to boost cooperation on water resources sector with Cambodia

The Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea, pledged to boost cooperation on water resources sector with Cambodia.

The pledge was made when H.E Kim Wansup,Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea, paid a courtesy call on Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, on Monday, May 5th.

The Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea highly appreciated the progress of Korea-Cambodia relations and cooperation, which have reached the level of strategic partnership, which has contributed to win-win cooperation for both countries.

The Minister also shared Korea’s experience in water resource management through the use of modern technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure efficiency, sustainability and full potential of resources to serve the economic support sector, especially the industrial sector.

For his part, the Cambodian Prime Minister thanked the Korean government and people for their support and assistance in contributing to the development of Cambodia, and expressed satisfaction with the progress of cooperation in the water resources sector between Cambodia and Korea.

The Cambodian Prime Minister said that while urbanization in Cambodia is rapidly developing with increasing demand for water consumption and improving the living standards of the people, the Royal Government of Cambodia has paid close attention to the supply of clean water to the people and the efficient and sustainable management of water resources.
