Her Excellency Nhem Morokat, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Chairwoman of the Working Group on the Disability Activities Council of the Ministry, was invited to preside over a get-together with visually impaired people working in the massage parlors in Battambang province.
The program was organized by the Association of Musicians for the Disabled in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, and the Ministry of Women Affairs with the aim of listening to challenges, needs, and suggestions made by people with sight impairment. The event was also meant to find ways of assisting those people by providing food, and coordinating with communes and sangkats to identify people with disabilities so as to provide them with social security cards.
Her Excellency Nhem Morakot asked all people with visual impairments to strive to learn more than one skill. In collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, plans are underway to open a training course for visually impaired people on massage and spa skills.
