The Ministry of Rural Development called a meeting to discuss the draft rural development policy 2025-2035 with the sub-national administrations.
The meeting took place on Thursday May 8 under the chairmanship of H.E Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, at the Ministry of Rural Development’s office. The consultation meeting was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Rural Development, representatives of provincial administrations, and rural development departments of all 25 capital and provinces.
H.E Chhay Rithisen thanked the representatives of all 25 provincial administrations for their commitment to promoting rural development.
The Minister said that the rural development sector has been a multi-sectoral task that has required the participation of all relevant parties, especially sub-national administrations.
The Royal Government of the 7th mandate of the National Assembly, headed by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, has launched the First Phase Pentagonal Strategy for Growth, Equity, Efficiency and Sustainability, which sets five key priorities: people, roads, water, electricity and digital technology to achieve Cambodia’s Vision 2050, the Minister pointed out.He added that to contribute to the achievement of the Royal Government’s development goals, the Ministry of Rural Development has worked on the preparation of the Rural Development Policy 2025-2035, based on past achievements and setting long-term rural development goals with the vision of “building a prosperous, modern and sustainable Cambodian rural society.
The Minister asked the entire meeting to actively participate in the discussion and provide suggestions, strategic inputs and constructive proposals to help complement this long-term development plan in a sustainable and truly implementable manner so as to, achieve tangible achievements for the people and the nation.
