Cambodia cooperates with South Korea to promote development of clean water sector and green industry

The Cambodian Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, H.E Hem Vandy and Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea, H.E Wansup Kim affirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation between the two countries.

The commitment was made during a bilateral meeting on May 7, 2025. The two sides focused on developing clean water infrastructure and promoting green industries in Cambodia.

The South Korean Environment Minister, said that the Korean government plans to increase its investment in Cambodia, and the clean water sector and environmental sustainability are priorities.

The Minister of Environment of Korea eyed a lot of potential in strengthening cooperation, especially in providing social services such as clean water services and green infrastructure.

He went on to say that Cambodia can avoid some of the development experiences that South Korea has encountered in its industrial transformation, and Korea’s smart water management system will help support Cambodia in its journey towards achieving the goals of the Royal Government’s pentagonal strategy.
