H.E Eang Sophallet, Minister of Environment, instructed all heads of environmental departments to strengthen law enforcement to prevent and combat natural resource crimes in nature protection areas.
The instruction was mad when the Minister presided over the signing ceremony of a memorandum between the Ministry of Environment and the Kandal Provincial Administration on preventing and reducing pollution of public water areas at the Ministry of Environment Office on Monday, May 12, 2025.
The Minister of Environment reiterated the introduction of strict measures to prevent natural resource crimes, including: 100% implementation of the law with no exceptions, strengthening cooperation with the Provincial Administration Command, which is the local authority with the role and responsibility of managing natural resources, working together to prevent, protect, and conserve natural resources in nature protection areas, and collaborating with the Anti-Corruption Unit and the Military Police Headquarters across the country, legal experts, the Ministry of Justice, in addition to collaborating with local authorities.
