The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, instructed all national police forces to increase the prevention of all types of crimes effectively

The instruction was made when the Cambodian Prime Minister, presided over a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the Cambodian National Police, at the Cambodian Police Academy in Kien Svay district, Kandal province, on Friday May 16, 2025.

The National Police Force has the role of maintaining public order and social safety, preventing all terrorist activities and cross-border crimes, protecting the legitimate government and the Constitution.

The Cambodian Prime Minister extended his sympathy with police officers across the country, including all retired national police officers who have made sacrifices for the cause of peace, independence, national sovereignty, territorial integrity, political stability, security, public order, and social safety.

The National Police was established by the late King Norodom Sihanouk through Royal Decree No. 35 NS dated May 16, 1945, under the control of the Ministry of Interior and Political Affairs, which was the time when Cambodia gained its first independence.
