A meeting was held last Friday, May 16 between the Ministry of Commerce and the Asian Development Bank and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Cambodia.

The Cambodian side was led by His Excellency OUM Kosal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce.  

The bilateral meeting with the teams from the Asian Development Bank was done through Zoom and in person with a team from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Cambodia. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss trade cooperation and support in Cambodia.

This meeting was also attended by the management and officials of the General Directorate of International Trade and the Department of International Cooperation.

The Undersecretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce thanked development partners for providing assistance for the development of the trade sector in Cambodia. He stated that the assistance has contributed significantly to the development of the trade sector, building trade capacity and promoting economic growth in Cambodia.

The Undersecretary of State pointed to the important objective of creating a coordination mechanism with development partners in the trade sector in Cambodia, requesting the participation of development partners for the successful implementation of the coordination mechanism between development partners and the Ministry of Commerce, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and implementing projects and programs related to the trade sector in Cambodia more effectively.
