Her excellency Ms. Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, said that Australia sought opportunities to further strengthen and expand cooperation with Cambodia.
The statement was made when her excellency Ms Frances Adamson AC, paid a courtesy call on Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, on Monday, May 19th.
Her excellency Ms Frances Adamson AC,expressed great interest in Cambodia’s progress in all sectors and highly appreciated the progress of good relations and cooperation between Australia and Cambodia.
Her excellency Ms Frances Adamson AC said that the main purpose of her visit is to seek opportunities to strengthen and expand cooperation between South Australia and Cambodia.
She informed Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister about the potential sectors of South Australia, including agriculture, education, tourism, and energy, adding that South Australia has a Cambodian community of nearly 4,000 people living, working, and studying.
For his part, the Cambodian Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude to the Government and people of Australia for their contributions to the process of finding peace as well as the restoration and development of Cambodia, which is a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of Cambodia today. The Cambodian Prime Minister also expressed his satisfaction with the good relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed and exchanged views on strengthening and expanding, and exploring further opportunities for cooperation between Cambodia and South Australia in key areas such as: education, clean energy, trade, investment, agriculture, and vocational training, and people-to-people connections through cultural and artistic exchanges and tourism promotion.
