The United Arab Emirates would continue to strengthen and expand cooperation with Cambodia

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, met with His Excellency Obaid Saeed Obaid Bintaresh Aldhaheri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Peace Palace, on Monday, May 19, 2025.

The Ambassador highly appreciated the progress of UAE-Cambodia bilateral relations. The Ambassador informed Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister that a delegation from the UAE Chamber of Commerce is planning to visit Cambodia to discuss cooperation in organizing trade fairs in Cambodia to promote investment and trade between the two countries. The Ambassador will hold discussions with relevant ministries and institutions of Cambodia to discuss further promoting and enhancing relations between the two countries and to continue discussing the implementation of agreements that the two countries have already agreed to, to put forward a concrete implementation plan and discuss promoting cooperation in the fields of logistics, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The Ambassador also informed about the further strengthening and expansion of cooperation in the field of education by establishing scholarships for Cambodian students focusing on studies, technology skills, and artificial intelligence.

For his part, the Cambodian Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction and high appreciation for the progress of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the tourism sector, through the increase in direct flights from the UAE to Cambodia, the Cambodian Prime Minister thanked the UAE for contributing to building human resources as well as supporting Muslim associations in Cambodia. He highlighted that Cambodia and the UAE still have many potential sectors that can further strengthen and expand cooperation.

He also encouraged the Ambassador to continue discussions with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to promote the implementation of the agreed agreements, aiming to turn them into concrete implementation plans.
