The Cambodian National Assembly President, Samdech Khuon Sudary, said that the social protection system has made a significant contribution to helping tens of millions of Cambodian citizens during various crises.

The social protection system has contributed to poverty reduction, especially ensuring health care protection from birth to death, which can be defined as a “life cycle approach” that includes seven risk groups, including maternity and childhood risks, health risks, employment risks, disability, unemployment, homelessness and old age, and life expectancy.
The forum, jointly organized by the 8th Commissions of the National Assembly and the Senate, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training and the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, brought together around 300 participants.
The President of the National Assembly stressed that the Royal Government of all mandates, especially in the 7th mandate of the National Assembly, has always paid the highest attention to human capital by setting “people” as a priority goal for national development, continuing to promote human capital development and the well-being of citizens by continuing to promote the development of a more effective and sustainable social protection system to provide protection to citizens throughout their lives.
She also emphasized that the National Assembly fully supports the social protection system policy and the National Assembly will continue to play an important role in providing cooperation and support to ensure that the system achieves its full potential, which will benefit all people and all sectors.
