H.E Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, met with Mr Cameron Baker, Chairman of the Expert Committee of the State of South Australia, to strengthen cooperation in the field of technical and vocational training, providing job opportunities and internships for Cambodian youth, at the Ministry on Monday, May 19, 2025.
H.E Heng Sour said that the Royal Government of Cambodia has launched the first phase of the Pentagonal Strategy, paying great attention to the development of human resource capacity and the modernization of the technical and vocational training system to respond to the potential labor market needs in Cambodia.
The Minister further said that the Ministrywelcomes all cooperation with national and international partners to expand the technical and vocational training sector in Cambodia to further develop, which responds to the needs of the labor market and the growth of the technology sector worldwide.
The two sides discussed the continued expansion of cooperation between Cambodia and South Australia to exchange experiences in the field of training in the production of electric vehicles and increasing productivity using smart technology systems and green infrastructure, especially building the capacity of key personnel in technical and vocational training, including providing scholarships to Cambodian trainees and students to learn more from Australian technology and experience.
For his part, Mr. Cameron Baker welcomed the further strengthening and expansion of Cambodia-Australia cooperation to join the Cambodian government in human resource development.
Both sides also lauded the Cambodian-Australian relationship, which has supported each other for many years, as both sides committed to increasing cooperation in the field of technical and vocational training and providing job opportunities for Cambodian citizens.
