The President of the Senate of Cambodia wished to see the establishment of direct flights between Phnom Penh and Moscow in the near future.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, expressed the intention when he met with H.E Igor Krasnov, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, in Phnom Penh on Tuesday May, 27.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen asked the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation to help promote the establishment of direct flights from Moscow, Russia to Phnom Penh in the near future to further enhance mutual relations in the tourism sector.

H.E Chea Thearith, Spokesperson of the Senate, said after the meeting that Samdech Techo Hun Sen encouraged Russia to establish direct flights from Moscow to Cambodia in the near future to further boost relations between the two countries and to promote trade and economic cooperation.

The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation hoped that Russian civil aviation companies would study the possibility of investing in opening direct flights from Russia to Cambodia to expand relations and exchange tourists.

H.E Igor Krasnov, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, was on a working visit to Cambodia from May 26 to 27, 2025.
