Cambodia-Kuwait agree to expand relations and cooperation between the two countries

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled AL-Hama AL-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, have agreed to expand relations and cooperation on major field between the two countries.

The leaders of the two countries reached the agreement during a working meeting on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit and related summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed Kuwait’s intention to strengthen the friendly ties between the two countries.

He told the Crown Prince of Kuwait that the policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia was to strengthen and expand relations with countries in the Middle East, including Kuwait, by promoting cooperation in various fields such as trade, tourism, and people-to-people contacts.

The Cambodian Prime Minister encouraged the establishment of a bilateral consultation mechanism between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs to review the progress of existing cooperation and explore potential areas of cooperation.

His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah affirmed his country’s intention to strengthen relations and expand cooperation with Cambodia and mentioned Kuwait’s readiness to share experiences with Cambodia in the energy sector.

He also stressed the need for continued high-level exchanges of visits, which would pave the way for further cooperation.
