Cambodian Prime Minister Encourages Japanese Companies to Invest in Cambodia to Produce Goods for Domestic and Foreign Markets

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has encouraged Japanese companies to invest in Cambodia to produce goods for the domestic market and export to the world market.

The encouragement was made when Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister presided over the Cambodia-Japan Business Forum, on Thursday,May 29, 2025, during his official working visit to Japan from May 28 to 31.

The Cambodia-Japan Business Forum was co-organized by the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, Japan External Trade Organization, Japan Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee (AMEICC), and Mizuho Bank, with nearly 300 investors from 227 companies in Tokyo, Japan.

The Cambodian Prime Minister said that the stable political environment and robust macroeconomic growth in Cambodia provide a safe and reliable foundation for long-term investment.

Cambodia’s total trade volume last year reached US$54.74 billion, an increase of approximately 16.9 percent. Exports accounted for around US$26.2 billion, while imports totaled about US$28.54 billion.

The Cambodian Premier added that direct engagement with investors remains a cornerstone of the Cambodian government’s policy. Cambodia’s strategic priorities include the regular Government-Private Forum, a key mechanism for consistently addressing the concerns of the private sector, stressed the Cambodian Prime Minister.
