Addressing the closing of the Cambodia-Japan Business Forum in Japan, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, the Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stated that Japan is an important economic partner of Cambodia, both in building human capital and developing Cambodia’s socio-economic infrastructure.
The Cambodian Prime Minister further said that the organization of this forum confirms the deep economic cooperation and strong bilateral relations between Cambodia and Japan, and the strengthening of the joint commitment to invest in the great potential of the economic partnership.
The Cambodian Prime Minister stressed that over the past seven decades, Cambodia and Japan have built a long-standing diplomatic relationship based on mutual understanding and trust, which will become a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2023.
The Cambodian Prime Minister emphasized that Cambodia highly appreciates Japan’s important role and support in Cambodia’s peace process.
The Cambodian Prime Minister added that Japan’s assistance has contributed greatly to building human capital and developing Cambodia’s socio-economic infrastructure, proving that Japan is an indispensable partner.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Japanese government for its significant financial and technical assistance, focusing on strengthening and modernizing the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port to become a regional and central port.
The Cambodia-Japan Business Forum was co-organized by the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, the Japan External Trade Organization, the Japan Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee, and Mizuho Bank.
