According to officials from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the technical team has started the work from the geographical boundaries of Kandal and Takeo provinces to those of Takeo and Kampot provinces.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport said that on June 3, 2025, the team inspected the site, collected data, and set up maker poles along the Funan Techo canal in Takeo province.
He said that by the end of May 2025, the technical team had inspected the site, collected data, and set up land boundaries along the Funan Techo Canal, completing work for the second section in the entire geography of Kandal Province.
For the first section in Kandal province, which is 21 kilometers long, from Prek Takeo to Prek Por, the impact management team of the Ministry of Economy and Finance has completed the survey of the affected land plots. The impact management team composed of officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and the Kandal Provincial Administration has been continuing to implement relevant procedures to complete the work in the near future.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport said that after all the procedures have been finalized, the Funan Techo Canal project is scheduled to officially begin by the end of 2025.
