The Cambodian Prime Minister said that the Royal Government of Cambodia, has planned and prepared to launch new social assistance programs and social security fund in line with the actual development of the Cambodian society and economy.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, made the point at the opening ceremony of the first Congress of the Senate and the National Assembly on Monday, June 2, 2025.

The Cambodian Prime Minister added that the Royal Government has continued to strengthen the governance of the social protection system to make it stronger and more effective based on three functions: policy level, regulatory level, and operator level, to ensure the effective performance of the functions of the social protection.

The Prime Minister stressed that citizens have to be taught how to fish, rather than to be given fish.

The Congress was held under the chairmanship of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and Chairman of the first Congress of the Senate and the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
