Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and chairman of the first congress of the National Assembly and the Senate of Cambodia, recommended the Royal Government to make further efforts to address water shortages in the agricultural sector.
The recommendation was among several othersmade by Samdech Techo Hun Sen when he chaired the first Congress of the National Assembly and Senate at the National Assembly Palace on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the second day of the Congress.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen further said that comprehensive agricultural development would help solve water problem and was to increase the cultivation of Cambodian farmers once or twice a year.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also stressed that all ministries and institution concerned have to pay more attention to more irrigation systems.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also recalled the four priorities the Royal Government has launched 1987 for the agricultural sector, which included roads, water, electricity, and people.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, said that the Royal Government has beencommitted to further giving high priority to the agricultural sector to improve the livelihoods of the people and ensure food security for the entire nation.
