Cambodia, Cuba explore possibilities of expanding cooperation in other Domains

The President of the Cambodian National Assembly said that the exchange of visits and mutual support on the international stage have helped strengthen cooperation between Cambodia and Cuba.

Samdech Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly mentioned this when she met with Her excellency Milena Caridad Zaldivar Piedra, Cuban Ambassador to Cambodia in Phnom Penh on Monday June 9.

The President of the National Assembly expressed satisfaction with the good cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia and Cuba, which has brought mutual support in politics, diplomacy and economy, both in bilateral and international frameworks.

For her part, the Cuban Ambassador said that the Cuban government has intended to expand cooperation with Cambodia in other important sectors, while bilateral cooperation in education, health and agriculture has been progressing well.

The two sides highlighted the long-standing relationship between Cambodia and Cuba, established in the 60s, and were committed to further promoting relations and cooperation.

The two sides also discussed promoting investment, trade and tourism between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Cuban Ambassador handed over a letter from the President of the National Assembly of Cuba inviting the President of the Cambodian National Assembly to visit Cuba in the future.

This year marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Cuba.
