Cambodia-Tajikistan agree to continue strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Tajikistan, have agreed to continue strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation in key areas between the two countries.

The agreement was made when Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, met with H.E Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, on Monday June 9, 2025, on the sidelines of the 3rd United Nations Conference on Oceans, from June 8th to 13th, 2025 in Nice, France.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed his pleasure at the bilateral working meeting with Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, which will help strengthen and expand relations and cooperation between the two countries. He recalled Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s visit to Tajikistan in 2019 and highlighted Tajikistan’s potential in the energy sector, clean energy, and set a target of 100% clean energy use by 2038.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan noted that Cambodia is a country with great potential in agriculture, with Cambodia being able to ensure domestic food supply and have a surplus for export to the international market. He expressed his strong belief that under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister, Tajikistan-Cambodia bilateral relations will be further strengthened for the benefit of both peoples and countries.

For his part, the Cambodian Prime Minister said that this bilateral meeting is an opportunity to explore opportunities for cooperation in key areas between the two countries.

He also highlighted the commitment to continue strengthening and expanding relations between the two countries.
