In 2024, Cambodia’s vehicle sector received an investment of approximately US$746 million, while exports increased to approximately US$1.14 billion.
In the second meeting to review and discuss the draft evaluation report on the implementation of the Cambodian vehicles and electronics development roadmap recently at the Council for the Development of Cambodia, His Excellency Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister, First Vice President of the Development Council and Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Implementation of the Cambodian vehicles and Electronics Development Roadmap, thanked the efforts of relevant stakeholders in promoting the implementation of the roadmap measures with a high sense of responsibility and proactive in the vision of transforming Cambodia into a “center for the production of vehicles components and electronic equipment for export to regional and global markets” since the launch of the roadmap in late 2022 until the receipt of the “Draft Evaluation Report on the Implementation of the Cambodian Automotive and Electronics Development Roadmap in 2023-2024. The Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol also asked relevant ministries and institutions to expedite the written submission of the draft report to be finalized before submitting it to the Economic and Financial Policy Committee for review and approval in June or July 2025.
His Excellency Lim Visal, Deputy Secretary-General of the Cambodia Investment Committee of the Development Council and Deputy Head of the Secretariat for Leading and Coordinating the Implementation of the Cambodian Industrial Development Policy 2015-2025, presented on the background and Progress of the Development Council’s Work in the Framework of Promoting the Implementation of the Roadmap,” and Mr. Ken David, Advisor to the Development Council and Head of the Research Group of the Industrial Development Policy Secretariat, presented on the Draft Evaluation Report on the Implementation of the Roadmap for the Development of Cambodia’s Automotive and Electronics Sectors in 2023-2024,” which was actively reviewed and discussed by the meeting.
