The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.E Sar Sokha, and Dr. Will Parks, UNICEF Country Director in Cambodia, met on Thursday June 19 to discuss and exchange views on the results of cooperation between UNICEF and the Ministry of Interior.

Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha thanked UNICEF for always supporting the building, training, and development of human resources in Cambodia, and praised the fruitful results of the implementation of the cooperation program between UNICEF and the Royal Government of Cambodia, which brought many important achievements and contributed to the progress of Cambodia.

On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Deputy Prime Minister also thanked UNICEF for cooperating with the Ministry of Interior in the implementation of two major projects, namely the Social Services Promotion Project and the Child Protection Project, which have helped to improve the livelihoods of children, poor women, orphans, the elderly, people with disabilities.

For his part, Dr. Will Park has briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the progress and work plan for the implementation of 2024 andthe organization’s social policy programs, education programs, health and nutrition programs, and child protection programs.

The two sides appreciated the collaboration between UNICEF and the Ministry of Interior in continuing to strengthen, promote, and develop sub-national administration.
