Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong agreed with Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate, that the Cambodian-Thai border dispute had to be resolved through the International Court of Justice.

The Singaporean Prime Minister expressed the agreement when he paid a courtesy call on Samdech Techo Hun Sen, in Phnom Penh on Wednesday, July 2nd.

The Prime Minister of Singapore hoped that peace will come to the ASEAN region and the two sides will try to resolve the problem patiently by standing on the basis of international law and peaceful and bilateral mechanisms.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, asked the Prime Minister of Singapore to help push the Thai side to go to the International Court of Justice with Cambodia to end the border dispute so that it does not continue to be passed on to future generations.

Cambodia’s official letter regarding the border dispute with Thailand has reached the International Court of Justice since June 16.
