Samdech Akka Moha Sena Pedei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate, said that the Meunchey international border gate in the eastern province of Prey Veng would help boost economic connectivity between Cambodia and Vietnam. 

Samdech Teco Hun Sen spoke of the importance of the gate at a get-together with students and teachers at the Chea Sim Kamchay Mear Education and Training Center, in Prey Veng province on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen further said that with the official inauguration of the Muenchey international border gate, Cambodia can attract investors or facilitate transportation between Cambodia and Vietnam.

The President of the Senate said that on April 29, the Minister of Commerce of Cambodia signed an agreement with the Minister of Commerce of Vietnam to raise the trade volume to US$20 billion.

Prey Veng province plans to hold a meeting with the authorities of Tay Ninh province to discuss the official inauguration of the Muen Chey-Ten Na international border gate under the chairmanship of the leaders of both countries.

The trade volume between Cambodia and Vietnam has increased by US$10 billion.
