Health Minister Hopes Cambodia, France Will Exchange New Medical Knowledge and Techniques

The Minister of Health hoped that the annual scientific conference on “Developing Knowledge and Skills for Better Health Services” will be a platform for the exchange of new medical knowledge and techniques between Cambodia and France.

The conference was held on July 2 by the University of Health Sciences of Cambodia in collaboration with the French National Academy of Medicine., with the participation of H.E Jaques Pellet, French Ambassador to Cambodia,

The two-day scientific conference shared new scientific knowledge and research results and provided an opportunity for potential speakers and Cambodian doctors to discuss and exchange ideas on research related to a number of important topics, including: antimicrobial resistance, human papillomavirus.

The Minister said that the fruitful discussions have given innovation ideas for the treatment and care of patients in all health facilities. He also called for the promotion of health education and public participation and for the launch of campaigns to raise awareness on the prevention of non-communicable diseases and the immune system with antiviral drugs. The Minister of Health further said that all relevant authorities have had to continue to strengthen strict drug regulation on production, sales, distribution and monitoring of quality and safe drugs.

The Minister also encouraged close cooperation between sectors and organizations to solve the problem of non-communicable diseases and the causes of the increase in resistance to antiviral drugs. Strengthening effective monitoring mechanisms has served as a basis for interventions to solve health problems in a timely manner for the people, stressed the Minister of Health.
