Cambodia earned over US$283 million from exporting over 380,000 tons of rice in the first half of this year

The Cambodian Rice Federation said that in the first half of 2025, Cambodia exported 387,070 tons of rice to 63 markets around the world.

A representative of the Federation told local journalists that the export volume was worth more than US$283 million and made through 40 rice exporting companies. He said that thedestinations included 26 European countries, with a total of over 180,000 tons of rice, worth about 140 million US dollars. He added that the other importers were China and Hong Kong, 7 ASEAN countries, and several countries in Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.

In a meeting with the delegation of the Rice Federation on January 8, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that the Royal Government still prioritizes rice as it is Cambodia's long-term strategic crop, and outlined the necessary policies to support the rice crop and ensure the competitiveness of the Cambodian rice sector by building connectivity infrastructure, facilitating transportation, and reducing production costs, and promoting ownership of the domestic supply chain and exports to international markets.

According to the Cambodian Rice Federation, Cambodia also exported over 3 million tons of wet rice, worth approximately $757.49 million.

According to a press release from the Cambodian Rice Federation issued on January 10, 2025, in the first 12 months of 2024, Cambodia exported more than 600,000 tons of rice, earning a revenue of about US$400 million.
