The President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech KhuonSudary, said that Cambodia is willing to contribute to ensuring and protecting regional and global peace through dialogue and cooperation, with citizens at the core.
The Cambodian National Assembly President made the point, when she
presided over the opening of the 16th AIPA meeting hosted by the Cambodian Parliament on the morning of July 15.
Samdech Khuon Sudary said that Cambodia is willing to contribute more to promoting peace in the region and the world, promoting dialogue and cooperation through sharing experiences and ending the war and national reconciliation in Cambodia in line with the win-win policy of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister, and now the president of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The President of the National Assembly firmly believes that joint thinking and joint efforts are truly important in providing solutions and building an international system that is more inclusive, fair and just for all people.
She added that the ASEAN region and the world have been facing numerous challenges and pressures, including increasing geopolitical competition, the weakening of the multilateral system, and signs of economic fragmentation, disputes over sovereignty and armed conflict, combined with non- traditional security threats such as climate change, environmental degradation, sophisticated transnational crime, widening inequalities, global health security, technological disruption and humanitarian crises.
