The Minister of Interior considers strengthening laws, customs and regulations as the foundation for a strong and sustainable institution

His Excellency Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Interior, said that the foundation for a strong institution from one mandate to another in a sustainable manner is the strengthening of laws, customs and regulations.

The Minister of Interior made the point when he chaired the meeting of the Legislative Working Group on the Division of Responsibilities and the Law and Legal Regulations Research Group of the Legislative Council at the Ministry of Interior Office on July 14, 2025.

His Excellency Sar Sokha also spoke about the importance of​​​    improving all legal regulations within the Ministry of Interior in line with the developments in the country and the world for the common good, based on the principle of strengthening the rule of law, including social order.

The Minister of Interior also instructed the Legislative Council to coordinate the strengthening of existing laws and updatinglaws to respond to the realities of society.

The Legislative Council of the Ministry of Interior is led by a chairman with the rank and privileges equivalent to an Undersecretary of State, and a vice chairman with the rank and privileges equivalent to an assistant director. It has members of the Legislative Council with the rank and privileges equivalent to heads of departments of the General Departments under the Ministry of Interior.

The Legislative Council has important roles, such as cooperating with relevant units under the Ministry of Interior in developing plans, studying, researching, drafting laws, legal documents, and other necessary documents of the Ministry of Interior in line with the direction of the political program of the Royal Government.
