Cambodian Premier: Cambodia considers digital technology as an important driving force for socio-economic development in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0

The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, said that Cambodia has considered digital technology as an important driver for socio-economic development in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Addressing the opening of the 80th Meeting of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday April 22, 2024,

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stressed that digital innovation has been critical to inclusive sustainability and resilient development, especially to addressing the growing inequalities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the timely response to the needs of the growth of the people.

Digital technology has created a new impetus for the growth and promotion of the use of key public services, and contributed to building a modern and civilized society where people can benefit from it with reliability and high security and to helping maintain national and cultural identity, stressed the Prime Minister.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet further said the Royal Government of the 7th Legislature has adopted the first phase pentagonal strategy with five priority priorities: people, roads, water, electricity and technology, where digital technology is a new priority in the fifth pentagonal side. 

Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister added that the policy frameworks involve all stakeholders in society, including the government, the people and the private sector, and all contribute to achieving Cambodia's Vision 2050.
