Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet instructed the Phnom Penh Municipality Administration to consider establishing public bus lanes along the new suburban road network and satellite cities to give priority to public transport.
The Cambodia’s Prime Minister made the instruction when he presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the constructionof twin flyovers at the intersection between Samdech Techo Hun Sen Boulevard and the National Road No. 2, at the border between Phnom Penh capital and Kandal province, on June 17th.
The Cambodian Prime Minister stressed that with the development of the Cambodian economy, the city will become more developed, people will live and do business more actively and for the construction of each road, the Phnom Penh Administration has to consider all aspects in advance, especially the preparation of public bus lanes along the new suburban or satellite city road network.
Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister highlighted that the twin flyovers under construction will play a vital role in connecting Phnom Penh with Takhmao city and Techo International Airport.
The Cambodian Prime Minister added that suburb development needs to consider the connection of the road network, and the construction of new roads must account for increased travel over the next 15 to 20 years ahead.
