Cambodian Prime Minister thanks the Cambodian people for support the Funan -Techo canal project

The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, thanked the Cambodian people for supporting the Funan-Techo canal project.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet made the thanks at a get-together with government officials, workers and employees of Sihanoukville Autonomous port in the coastal province of Preah Sihanoukville on May 1, 2024.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that the Funan-Techo canal project   would contribute to promoting tourism as the canal would make it easy for tourists to continue their journey from other countries to Phnom Penh city, Siem Reap province and elsewhere in the country.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stressed that tourism has to rely on the number of days that tourists stay, so the longer the tourism, the better.

The Funan-Techo canal project is to connect inland rivers to the sea of Cambodia, passing through Kandal, Takeo, Kampot and Kep provinces, of about 180 kilometers long.
