The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, said that the Kampot Multi-Purpose Port will be another important new artery for Cambodia's maritime transport and improve trade and exchange activities.
The point was made when he presided over the inauguration of the first phase of Kampot Multi-Purpose Port on Thursday June 6.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet highly appreciated the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Kampot Provincial Administration, Ministries, Institutions and all relevant parties for their good cooperation with Kampot PordCompany to achieve the Kampot Multi-Purpose Port.
The Cambodian Prime Minister further said the port sector is one of the priority sectors that the Royal Government pays attention to promoting development by continuing to increase investment budgets and mobilize financing, as well as strengthen the efficiency of use to further develop the port infrastructure.
The Cambodian Premier added that the KampotMulti-Purpose Port is considered to be another deep-sea port in Cambodia and a modern and important port to complement the functions of Sihanoukville Autonomous Port and Phnom Penh Autonomous Port.
The Kampot Multi-Purpose Port, which is worth about 140 million US dollars, is located in Bokor City, Kampot Province, on a total area of 207 hectares.
