Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, who is also first Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, said that Cambodia has been in a state of peace and political stability, and the success of investors has been the success of Cambodia.
The Deputy Prime Minister made the statement in his keynote speech during discussion at the ASEAN-Cambodia Business Summit 2024 held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from April 2 to 3 under the theme "Cambodia is the Gateway to ASEAN".
The Deputy Prime Minister continued to say that the Royal Government of Cambodia in the new legislature has launched the first phase of the pentagon strategy focusing on five key priorities: "people, roads, water, electricity and technology. He said that the aim was to serve the overall national interest. The first Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia pointed out that Cambodia has focused on human resource development with the launching of free vocational and technical training programs for 1.5 million young people from poor and vulnerable families. He said that Cambodia has worked on the improvement and development of infrastructure to increase competitiveness and more importantly, the Cambodian government in the new legislature has focused on technology to strengthen the efficiency of providing public services to investors.
He added that the Cambodian government has taken the initiative to coordinate investment activities by organizing a government-private sector forum to listen to the challenges and find solutions for investors so as to continue to improve the business environment in the kingdom.
The ASEAN-Cambodia summit was attended by senior dignitaries, ambassadors, representatives of relevant institutions, ASEAN Business Advisory Council, major international companies in Cambodia and ASEAN, and many stakeholders.
