More than one million people flocked to the northwestern province of Siem Reap during the 4 days of the Khmer New Year celebration from April 13 to16, 2024.

According to the report of the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, of the more than one million visitors, over 16,000 were foreigners.

Apart from the province of Siem Reap, where people can visit the historical Angkor complex, the festival goers also enjoyed the celebration on the beaches of the southern provinces of Kampot, Kep and Preah Sihanoukville. 

Some celebrated the four-day Khmer New Year in the eastern provinces of Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri by spending their time enjoying the ecotourism.
