Senior Minister Ly Thuch chairs a meeting of the Ottawa Convention Committees in Geneva, Switzerland

Dr. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister and First Vice President of the Mines Authority, chaired a meeting of the Ottawa Convention Committees in Geneva, Switzerland, as Cambodia the chair of the 5th Review Meeting of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Storage, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and Demining (Ottawa Convention).

According to the statement of the Mines Authority, Dr. Ly Thuch, representing the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Chairman of the Mines Authority, chaired a number of meetings of the Ottawa Convention from January 22 to 27, 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland, including:

- Commission on Cooperation Compliance Monitoring

-Coordinating Committee

-Globalization Coordinating Team

-Workshop to prepare for the 5th Review Meeting of the Ottawa Convention.

In addition to chairing the mandatory meeting of the President of the 2024 Convention, Senior Minister Ly Thuch will meet with the Working Group of the Convention Implementation Support Unit (ISU) and discuss work with ambassadors to seek additional support for the Ottawa Convention.
