The Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, H.E Han Dok-soo said that Cambodia is a destination for investment and a potential market for industry, especially the automotive industry.
The South Korean Prime Minister made the point during a meeting with Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia on May 16.
H.E Han Dok-soo warmly welcomed the official visit of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and the high-level delegation of the Royal Government of Cambodia to South Korea and highlighted the agreement to upgrade the level of Korea-Cambodia relations to reach the level of "strategic partnership" which will contribute to strengthening relations and cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
The Korean Prime Minister also confirmed to Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet that Cambodia is a destination for investment and a potential market for the Korean industry, especially the automotive industry and He also expressed his support and appreciation for the Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet's initiative to establish a special economic zone for Korean companies and the promotion of a regular consultation mechanism between the Korean Business Association in Cambodia and expressed his pleasure to increase additional official development assistance through a grant from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and concessional loans through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his pleasure to meet and discuss with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea and spoke highly of the relations and cooperation between Cambodia and South Korea, which has reached the level of "Strategic Partnership", which is an important relationship.
