A large Australian company wishes to invest in Sorghum processing in the Kingdom

A large Australian group has expressed its intention to invest in sorghum processing in Cambodia. 

Enserv Holding Australia expressed its intention when Mr. Tanachat Pochana, President of the Group paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet in Melbourne, Australia on Monday March 4, 2024.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed and was pleased to meet with the President of the company. The Cambodian leader said that the main purpose of the Royal Government of Cambodia in the seventh mandate has been to increase income for the people, and the Government has set out a policy to develop the agricultural sector in Cambodia through the use of modern technology to help promote agricultural production.

The Premier also said that the Royal Government of Cambodia has also paid attention to the development of the power sector, so the use of modern and new technologies to generate electricity has been in line with the Royal Government's policy to develop the energy sector with a focus on clean energy.

The President of the Company, for his part, thanked the Cambodian Prime Minister for spending his tight schedules to meet the company’s senior officers to discuss several investment aspects. The president also informed Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet about the company's business activities that have focused on growing sorghum. The company has the ability to process the crop into low-calorie but high-protein rice and can also process it into biogas. He added that by studying the potential of the agricultural sector and the condition of agricultural land in Cambodia, his company would seek investment opportunities in the crop in Cambodia to be processed into products for export.
