A Toyota car assembly plant was officially inaugurated by Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet , on Thursday, May 2nd , 2024.
The Toyota assembly plant is a joint venture between the company TOYOTA TSUSHO CORPORATION of Japan with 90% shares and the local firm Kong Nuon Group with10% shares.
The Toyota assembly project, which is worth nearly 37 million US dollars, was approved by the Council for the Development of Cambodia and located in the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone on a total area of over 42,000 square meters.
The factory has the capacity to assemble two models- FORTUNER and Hilux.
