Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, said that the Royal Government of Cambodia plans to invest nearly US$1 billion in the development of Preah Sihanoukville Port in Phase 3 by 2029.

The point was made when the Cambodian Prime Minister presided over the inauguration ceremony of a new school building and related infrastructure at Hun Sen Veal Rinh High School in Preah Sihanouk province, on Wednesday March 26, 2025.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stressed that Preah Sihanouk Province is the leading province in deep sea ports among Cambodia, as Cambodia has Kampot Port, Koh Kong Port and other.

The Cambodian Prime Minister went on to say that now the first step is to expand and strengthen Preah Sihanouk Province.

The Cambodian Prime Minister recalled that last year, he presided over the inauguration ceremony of the port in Preah Sihanouk Province, worth more than US$200 million with a loan from Japan.

The Prime Minister added that the potential of Preah Sihanouk Province would continue to grow in the future, but what is most needed is human resources in the province to serve these developments.
